Match Report - England v Italy. Our boys played well but ....

Same old heartbreak Story for England  ... Italy 2, England 1

Our Resident football-mad Ambient Lounge Twin Couch Expert says:

Score: England 1, Italy 2

Highlights: The fluid happy-feet movement of Sterling (what a talent!) and the beautiful response goal of Sturridge.

Lowlights: Rooney's finishing and general play. The England physio going down injured after our goal celebration. Ballotelli finding space at far post to put Italy in front.

The Ambient Lounge UK team were watching from home and nearly jumping off the twin couch on every England attack ....

England played their hearts out in the heat .... we can be proud of our young boys and the future looks bright. The way we moved the ball proves that we can do some damage at this World Cup. Italy are always a tough and disciplined nut to crack and this game wsa no exception, where just a few moemnt of naievity cost us dearly... plus our finishing in front of goal.

We had more of the better chances, just couldnt take them. Rooney the main culprit .... however, thats football. Keep creating chances and our time will come - starting with Luis Suarez's Uruguay who lost today and will be fighting like dogs for a win in the next match.

Credit to our youth policy and manager Roy Hodgson's bold selections  ... . England ran in the extreme heat and left nothin on the pitch by the final whistle. On general play we could have won and a few of our young guns like Raheem Sterling shone so bright on the biggest stage of all.

Watch this space and C'mon England! We can still get out of the group and do some damage at this World Cup.
