Recognised as Global Pioneers of the Designer Bean Bag

Ambient Lounge Designer Bean Bags
Recognised as global pioneers of the 'designer bean bag', the team at Ambient Lounge® have combined the functionally & superior comfort of soft bead filling with premium fabrics and beautifully shaped forms that look and feel more like designer furniture, at a fraction of the cost.

"This year we have segregated our collection into beautiful Interiors fabrics for living room spaces and 'Elements' fabrics that are weatherproof and adaptable for either indoor or outdoor applications" says Melissa Neri, creative director of the Ambient Lounge design team. "It's exciting to have such a diverse collection of fabrics for customers to choose from in this growing category. Plus look out for our patented innovation surprise - the Funnelweb® - which is going to be a long-term functional revolution in this retailing and care of bean filled furniture".

Success isn't an overnight thing for this group, with its founding members first designing such curvaceous bean bags as early as 1998. Learning the hard lessons, treading the minefield of bulk production they have become experienced, world leaders in every aspect of their niche category. "The term Bean bags is a banned description around here" says one staff member "we're soft furniture, not beanbags!".

The Ambient Lounge concept was borne out of a chance meeting of British, European and Antipodean designers ... and is now distributed throughout the globe to such culturally markets places as Saudi Arabia, Korea, China, Germany and South Africa. "It's really nice to see our hard work and dedication rewarded by fellow designers and progressive distribution channels worldwide..." Neri says wide-eyed. "This year is just the tip of the iceberg too, stay tuned to see what we do in the coming 18 months. We aim to further bridge the gap between bean bags and mainstream designer furniture for the young professionals and fashion conscious. "

Neri believes that having a young and diverse team from interior design, fashion design, graphic design and architectural backgrounds has helped the team stay on top of trends, colours and keep a good grounding with functional practicality. "Is it too much to ask for global domination?" she asks with a wry smile

With the passion, drive and focus shown by this group of people, they may well have it in the bag.
