Bean Bag, our favourite 12 month old Southern Hairy Nosed Wombat, has hit another major milestone. According to the update on Bean Bags Facebook page, he is now eating pellets. Since his introduction to the tasty treat he has indulged in the pellets at every opportunity given. So he has grown to love the air condition of his human parents home, and sprouted a belly that is very rotund indeed.
Of course the plight of the wombat continues, but Bean Bag is a wonderful spokesperson for the cause. He has made television appearances, and met high profile individuals that will hopefully bring attention to the difficult predicament of the wombat. Though the little dynamo has captured the hearts of thousands, he still has an uphill battle, as do his fellow wombats.

Each year, after trick or treating, my kids and I sit on our bean bags and spread out all the candy loot they collected during the course of the night.
