Summertime provides the perfect atmosphere for hanging out with friends. So little is required when my pals and I get together. Simply basking in the warmth of the sun, some good tunes, a couple cool beverages, and something comfy to sit on make for a perfect day.
In fact, it is so easy to create the right set up for enjoying the joys of summer, I took it upon myself to turn my garden into our official place to congregate. First, I found some great looking, awesomely comfortable, and inexpensive outdoor bean bags. Next, I bought a supersized blender and stocked up on ice. Finally, I delegated the playlist of music to my friends. Take my word for it, this is the way to roll.

As my husband and I recline upon our garden bean bags and sip from our cups of wonderful green wine from Portugal, we thoroughly enjoy our quiet time. For years we were constantly hustling and bustling to make it to every event we were invited to, and to host dinners and drinks parties regularly. But, now we have realized how to seize the moment without having to work so hard to do it.
At some point we became worn out from all the engagements, and preparations. Slowly we began to rush around less, and to chill more. Not once have either of us felt compelled to return to our former lifestyle. Instead, we revel in the precious downtime and the opportunity to unwind together.
In fact, just the opposite has occurred. We truly wish we had seen the error of our ways sooner. Then we might have spent more time on hobbies, or simply reading at leisure. Oddly enough, it was through the purchase of the bean bags we rest upon in our garden that finally made us realize that all we really need is too appreciate the place we call home more.
So, I highly recommend to all of my friends that they slow down and give peace and relaxation a try. One thing we do not promote is buying a low grade outdoor bean bag. I am an American visiting England, and as such I was elated when I received an invitation to a wedding at a castle. Right off the bat it sounded fantastic, a scene right out of a fairy tale. I had such visions of grandeur, the surprise was that my imagination could not even compare with the reality of the event.
The ceremony was in a grand hall, and the gowns were vintage, and very elaborate. The ceremony was directed by a woman, hence giving a modern feel to the otherwise traditional feel. Then after the main event, we sauntered to the lavish garden to be seated on sumptuous contemporary bean bags. Yet, another element of new blending with old. As the harpist lulled us, and the Pimms filled us, daylight began to wane.

I think it is time for me to admit I am addicted to celebrity news. As soon as I get home I plop on to my leather bean bag and log onto The Sun Newspaper, Hello Magazine, OK Magazine, TMZ or Perez Hilton sites. There just never seems to be enough gossip about Lady Gaga, Katie Price, Lily Allen, Russell Brand or Jude Law. In fact, I had become a tad self conscious about my fave past time. Lets face it, we all enjoy one form of mindless entertainment or another, whether it be video games, silly soap operas, or cartoons. In fact, our parents and grand parents and great grand parents have all found ways to unwind that were not educational, productive or particularly impressive.
